On the other hand, a long-running medical experiment shows that if a person breathes in an environment of 12.5% oxygen concentration and 2%-5% carbon dioxide concentration, the amount of oxygen obtained by the brain is at the same level with that in the normal atmospheric environment (21% oxygen concentration and 0.03% carbon dioxide concentration). Therefore it will not impair human health. The addition of 40% argon gas is mainly for accelerating the diffusion of the mixed gas in the protection zone, therefore ensuring an even concentration of the extinguishing agent in the protection zone.
