Introduction To Selector Valves
◆ The selector valve is installed on the header with one end connected to the header and the other end connected to the delivery pipeline of fire extinguishing agent. The valve is equipped in the combined distribution system to control the flow direction of the extinguishing agent. The selector valve is normally closed. In the event of a fire, the fire extinguishing agent is delivered to the protected area through the opened selector valve, and the fire extinguishing agent is sprayed to the protected area after traveling through the transmission pipe network. The selector valve is made of austenitic stainless steel. The designed pressure of the valve is 5.3MPa, and the start pressure of cylinder is 0.6MPa.
Operating Principle
◆ The selector valve is composed of a valve body (including a valve spool), a tripping mechanism, a push cylinder and a manual start handle. When the starter cylinder unit in a certain protected area is activated, it controls the gas to enter the cylinder and push the trip to disengage. When the fire extinguishing agent flows from the header to the shunt pipe, the tripped selector valve installed on the shunt pipe is automatically opened under pressure.
Manually open the handle, only use it when it needs mechanical emergency operation. It is strictly prohibited to pull it at will to avoid misoperation; after use or inspection, the trip mechanism must be reset.
